Hola, mi nombre es Oscar Araya y soy de Santiago. Estudié Ilustración Digital en el Duoc de San Carlos de Apoquindo y trabajo desde hace casi 1 año de manera profesional en este rubro. Soy organizador de Pokédex Chile y también admin en Concept Art Chile. Soy también un Pixar lover, mi estilo ha girado un poco en torno a la estética que se usa en los conceptart para las películas de Pixar, Dreamworks, Etc.
Comencé a dibujar desde muy pequeño, específicamente dinosaurios, los amaba xD (Al principio quería estudiar algo relacionado a la paleontología debido a eso). Y pasé prácticamente toda mi etapa del colegio dibujando, pero nunca imagine trabajar realizando esto. No fue hasta entrar a estudiar la carrera de Ilustración que comencé a darme cuenta del gran mundo que hay detrás de este rubro.
Comencé asistir a diversos talleres (uno de los cuales fue realizado gratuitamente por Sergio Lantadilla) y a varios Workshop. Y a medida que pasaba el tiempo comencé a tomarme más enserio lo que yo estaba estudiando y no fue entonces hasta hace de meses antes de terminar la carrera, que decidí dedicarme un 100% a esto.
Organicé el proyecto Pokédex Chile junto a FELO, Camila Cumplido y Tomás Castro. Si bien como todo proyecto ha tenido sus pro y contras, Lo que más puedo rescatar, es la cantidad enorme de ilustradores que he llegado a conocer gracias a esto y además saber que ellos han agradecido este espacio por también haber conocido a otros, ha convertido esto en una divertida experiencia y es algo de lo que no me arrepiento haber hecho.
Una de las aspiraciones que tengo es llegar a trabajar en grandes empresas de animación o videojuegos a nivel internacional. Tales como Blue Sky Studios, Disney, Ubisoft (entiéndase en videojuegos como Rayman Origins o Child of Light),Etc.
A futuro me gustaría también realizar más proyectos con otros ilustradores (no necesariamente exposiciones), pues siempre me ha gustado la idea de realizar colaboraciones con otros talentos ya sea de este país o de afuera. Mientras haya voluntad todo se puede.
